Norwood, Northvale and Rockleigh are located far northeastern part of Bergen county. It means the New Jersey's most
northeastern part also.
Northvale and Rockleigh are shared the border of states of New Jersey and New York with Tappan and Orange Town
(Rockland county), New York.
Palisades Parkway is a couple of minutes away, so it's very convenient for the people to go New York city as same as any other town in New Jersey.
A few years ago, the Palisades Mall opened in Clarkstown, NY. There're many traffics in Norwood and Northvale since then.
(The following is from Rockleigh Town's website)
"The Rockleigh Borough, NJ, National Historic District is unique in having been shaped by the history of the area,
dating from well before the Revolutionary War.
Rockland (Old Closter, East Northvale, Rockleigh) comprised a group of
Dutch Colonial farmsteads along what is now Rockleigh Road, that wound across the Palisades Ridge to connect the fertile
Northern Valley with Snedens Landing on the Hudson River."
"The Historic value of an area rarely begins
with one single event, and this covert, wooded and
unique community is no exception to that rule."
